About Inter-Services Intelligence
Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) was established 74 years ago on the 1st of January 1948. As the most important intelligence agency in Pakistan, it is responsible for gathering intelligence, sharing information, as well as coordinating all military services, including the Intelligence Bureau and Military Intelligence. The agency is designed to be managed, controlled, and run by officers from all three branches of the military, i.e. Armed Forces, Navy, and Air force. A large portion of its resource base focused on collecting, analyzing, and assessing all types of intelligence, including naval, air, strategic, and even civilian intelligence. There are many types of equipment that are used by this organization as it works with Special Operations Forces. Primarily, the equipment that the ISI Operatives are provided with is Glock, Heckler & Koch USP, and FN Five-Seven pistols. Covert Action Division is the child agency of ISI. Lt. Gen. Nadeem Anjum is the current Director-General of ISI.
