About Space And Upper Atmosphere Research Commission
SUPARCO stands for âSpace & Upper Atmosphere Research Commissionâ. This organization was established 59 years ago on the 16th of September 1961. The headquarter of this national space agency is in Islamabad, Pakistan. It is playing an important role in the development of socio-economic growth by working on space science programs and manufacturing Pakistan missiles for peaceful purposes. The technical facilities of this organization are located in various parts of the country, i.e. Peshawar, Multan, Gilgit, Lahore, Karachi, and Quetta. SUPARCO is providing various products and services, i.e. Satellite Remote Sensing for Agriculture, Satellite for forests of Pakistan, Urban Planning, and Coastal Marine resources, etc. This space agency also offers short training courses, i.e. Environment & Climate change, Geographic Information, Artificial Intelligence, etc., and main training programs, i.e. âApprenticeship Trainingâ and Skill Development Course. SUPARCO is owned by the government of Pakistan and is currently operating under the commandment of Major General Amir Nadeem (CoEME).
