About National Transport Research Centre
The National Transport Research Centre was founded under the “Planning and Development Division” in the year 1974 to provide quality services of research and development in the transport sector. Later in the year 1992, this research centre was transferred to the “Communications Division”. Presently, NTRC is operating as the Research and Development wing of Communication Ministry and is offering its services in various ongoing projects, i.e. NTRC Permanent Traffic Count program (PTCP), NTRC Operational Research Program (Vehicle Operating Cost Study), NTRC Operational Research Program (Digitization of Roads Directory), etc. This organization is functioning with the vision of achieving excellence in the safety of roads, planning of transports, and road engineering through their efficient research work. Presently, this organization is operating under the management of Federal Minister of Communications Mr. Murad Saeed, Chief NTRC Mr. Hameed Akhtar, and Federal Secretary Mr. Zafar Hasan.
