About Port Qasim Authority

The Port Muhammad Bin Qasim is commonly known as Port Qasim was established on the 29th of June 1973. It is a deep-water seaport and the only seaport of Pakistan which is situated in the largest city of this country, Karachi. This port is surrounded by an area of about 12,200 acres and is divided into three zones, i.e. Eastern Industrial Zone (8,300 acres), North Western Industrial Zone (2920 acres), and South Western Industrial Zone (1000 acres). This port is presently offering multiple terminal facilities and projects which include container terminals, Grain and Fertilizer Terminal, Multipurpose Terminal, Oil Terminal, 2nd Steel Jetty, Gas Port LNG Floating Terminal, Liquid Chemical Terminal, etc. This port is owned by the government of Pakistan and the Ministry of Ports and Shipping. It is also called “the Gateway to National Prosperity” which comprises the manpower of more than 2000 employees and is operating under the management of Chairman Rear Admiral Hasan Nasir Shah.
