About Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT)
Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT) was founded 50 years ago in the year 1971 to develop, manufacture, upgrade, and rebuild combat vehicles such as Military Tanks, Tank Guns & Ammunition, and other artilleries. It is a state-owned defence enterprise that is authorized by the Ministry of Defense Production (MoDP). This organization also provides engineering services related to building krytron and manufacturing of the military gears for the Armed Forces. This enterprise is based on three major departments, i.e. Manufacturing department, the Rebuild department, and the Supporting department. The manufacturing department consists of Tank Manufacturing Factory, APC Manufacturing Factory, Gun Manufacturing Factory while the Rebuild department consists of Heavy Rebuild Factory (T-Series), Heavy Rebuild Factory (M-Series), Advanced System Rebuild Factory, and the Supporting department consists of DESCOM Factory and ARDIC. Currently, this organization is functioning under the management of Chairman Maj. General Syed Aamer Raza HI (M) and Secretary Colonel Aqeel Ahmed SI (M).
