About National Saving

The Central Directorate of National Savings was founded in the year 1873 in the British rule in undivided India as National Savings Bureau. Later in the year 1972, this organization was renamed as National Savings Organization by the Government of Pakistan. It is a state-owned government agency and savings bank which is directly authorized by the Ministry of Finance and managed by the Central Directorate. This organization is responsible to execute the finance and investment policies by promoting financial savings and investment schemes. This organization is authorized to provide various financial products such as Premium Prize Bonds, Pensioners Benefit Account, Regular Income Certificates, Savings Account, Defence Savings Certificate, etc. It is functioning with the vision of promoting financial inclusion and social security for the small savers. This organization is presently functioning under the management of Director General Mr. Aslam Zia and Director Operations Mr. M. Rafiq Sheikh. The head office of this organization is situated in Islamabad, Pakistan.
