About Ministry of Human Rights (MOHR)

The Ministry of Human Rights was founded in the year 2008 to ensure the right to freedom of expression and opinion through the implementation of policies and laws. It is a cabinet-level ministry that is authorized to review the human rights situation in Pakistan without any gender discrimination or social or political interference. This ministry makes sure that the basic rights of citizens, i.e. equality, merit, fairness, dignity, and respect are regularly protected according to international law. This ministry is functioning in Pakistan with the vision of promoting and protecting human rights according to the universal declaration and international human rights convention. This ministry is based on four wings, i.e. International Cooperation Wing, Development Wing, Human Rights Wing, and Administration Wing. Presently this ministry is operating under the leadership and management of Federal Minister of Human Rights Mrs. Shireen Mehrunnisa Mazari and Federal Secretary Mr. Inamullah Khan.
