About Virtual University
The Virtual University of Pakistan (VU) is the first university in Pakistan whose entire curriculum is devoted to the study of the latest Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). It was founded 20 years ago by the Government of Pakistan in the year 2002. This university offers a number of Bachelor’s Programs (BA, B.Sc., B.Ed. of 2 years and BS of 4 years), Associate Degree (ADP of 2 years), Master’s (MS, MPhil of 2 years and MA, MSc of 3.5 years), as well as Doctoral programs (Ph.D.). VU has been able to extend its network by offering services in more than 100 cities across Pakistan since its establishment. In addition, it has a strong affiliation with more than 190 educational institutions, which helps students with the development of their educational infrastructure. It has two types of campuses, i.e. its 2 offices and the others are private virtual campuses (PVC). VU is also affiliated with the Pakistan Sports Board, PCB, PFF, and PHF. More than 72,000 students are currently studying at this university. Prof. Dr. Arshad Saleem Bhatti is the Rector, whereas President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi is the Chancellor of VU.
